Inspiration
Certainly Halloween inspired as well as mixing in other elements from films such as It Follows and even The Gallows

Basic plot
Being chased is one of the scariest things you can experience. The only thing that could make this scarier is if you don't really undertand what you are running from and if you know you can't outrun it.
A group of teenagers are being hunted by an unspecified number of people wearing full black and wearing matching masks.
This is inspired by an article we read which spoke about how the most effective use of horror is when something day to day that isn't usually threatening is made threatening. An example of this is in Halloween near the beginning. This scene is simply of three girls girls walking down the street but is so eerie yet so simple and shot in daylight. We don't even see Michael Myers fully in this scene but it is so well shot that it has you on edge up until that stupid false scare at 2:07.

Therefore we wanted to take some simple concepts and flip them. One thing that makes people feel safe is their neighbourhood that they grew up in but what if they were trapped there and the place which they once thought they knew, has a deep dark secret.
Themes
This explores themes of basic things in life that make us feel safe and what happens when they are flipped and 21st century themes of do we share to much of our lives and do we have enough privacy.
Characters
In the first Halloween there is a total of 9 characters. Some are not used as fully fledged characters but rather as victims for Michael to disocatch with ease. This proves we do not need many characters in the trailer. Some of the characters in Halloween arent even in the trailer as they dont want to show them being murdered so it dosent spoil the film. We believe we will only need about 5 characters
Casting
Obviously as a group of two we will need to look outside of the group in order to cast people in roles which shouldn't be too hard due to the nature of the characters being teenagers with one masked murderer thrown in.
Props
We still haven't decided on the mask for the murderer. Perhaps an owl would suit the character due to the nature of him or her hunting at night and stalking his prey. The hunters weapon we decided should be a baseball bat. The typical knife or axe has been overdone so many times it isn't threatening any more. A baseball bat is an interesting choice as its a blunt weapon that isn't fatal. This to me makes it more threatening as it wont kill you instantly because the hunter doesn't want to do so. Also when someone is hit with a blunt weapon we believe the audience feel it more. The amount of times we have seen people cringe and hold their head when watching films such as The Raid which uses a lot of blunt combat and violence.
We would also like the protagonists to have a camera at their disposal. NOT A FOUND FOOTAGE MOVIE. We certainly don't want this to turn into a found footage movie however we believe the element of POV shots is crucial and we can use some very interesting techniques when doing this.
