What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
We posted our trailer on social media, this is our feedback
This comment is from someone aged 20, this is showing that the film was positively taken by someone who is part of our target audience (15-21), it also shows that the choices we made with the music attracted the right people to the film.
This comment is from someone aged 17, this again is showing that our trailer was successful in gaining the attention of people aged 15-21, He also left a comment about about the concept of our film, he 'really liked that it was set in a school'. This shows that our decision to base the film in a place our target audience is either still at or not long recently left still gives them a a reason to connect with our film.
Also there is a comment form this girl who is 15 years old, once again this is a positive comment by someone that fits into our target audience, this also shows that the choice of actress we used, which does conform to convention, still has a connection with young teenage girls.
This is a survey from people that are not in our target audience, to see what their reaction was.
How scary was the trailer?
-Person 1, aged 26- I very much enjoyed the trailer and it looked like a fun film, but i couldn't really relate to the film so didn't find it as scary.
-Person 2, aged 47- This trailer was terrifying al lot scarier than other horrors like halloween.
This question shows us that even people that the film is not targeted at can still find it scary but may struggle as they may not feel like they can relate to the film.
Would you watch the full film?
Person 1- Im not sure that i would watch the full film as i feel like I may not get some references as i no longer go to school.
person 2, I don't really enjoy watching horror films.
This question shows us that the concept of the film may not work with people outside the target audience.
Overall asking these two questions to people who are not in our target audience is showing why the concept of the film does not fit in with people not in our target audience.

We filmed peoples reaction just after they watched our trailer
From these reactions we can see that certain choices we made worked very well with our target audience. Some of the people we interviewed mentioned they were very happy with our casting choices, the age of the actors we used was in the range of the target audience which related with them well as a few of the mentioned they liked certain actors we used.
They also mentioned they liked the way that the editing started slow and then sped up towards the end, this is horror convention we decided to stick with and the feedback was positive towards it showing this was a good decision to keep to this convention.
Also mentioned was the choice of font used. It was said to remind someone of a horror zombie video game. This game was 18 rated and it means that the text resinates with people in that target audience.
Also mentioned was the use of blood showing that we used the right amount to entice our target audience.
It was said that the use of the modern slasher was good, and this was us challenging convention because we used the themes of a slasher but used a baseball bat instead.
It was also said that they like the fact we had 'damsels in distress' meaning that we cast the 'final girl' well to resinate with our audience.
At the end it was mentioned that they liked the fact of a simple killer killing people one at a time, this sticks to old horror conventions of films like Halloween.
